Traci Schott
MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST, LCSW-MSSW,
FOUNDER & CLINICAL DIRECTOR OF FYS
I have been working in the field of social work for 34 years. Throughout that time I have developed an eclectic but holistic approach, meeting each client where they are and incorporating art, play, yoga, exercise, gardening, healthy eating, among many others things. While remaining evidence based in the formal Trauma-Focused CBT training I have. I work with all age ranges but have specialized in working with kids & families for the past thirty years. I have a special interest in working with young women who are learning how to handle what life throws at them with courage, strength, and grace. There are always going to be people who are hurting emotionally and I feel called to be a guide to walk with them on their healing journey. My work with my clients is my calling. I truly believe that each person who comes to Feed your Soul has been guided there by God and it’s then my job to walk alongside them on their journey. My end goal in therapy is to not be needed, so my focus is on teaching tools that empower each client to solve their own problems. There’s nothing that a therapist likes to hear more from a client than ‘I think I’ve got this.’
In addition to my work as a clinician, I am an approved clinical supervisor through the Tennessee Health-Related Boards & provide direct oversight & supervision of every FyS client's therapy, ensuring that each client's needs are being met & that the NASW Code of Ethics is held firm by all therapists.

MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST - MS in Community Mental Health
I have been trained in and use CBT, TF-CBT, EMDR, CRM. I see clients of all ages, but I especially enjoy working with clients aged from 5-18. I have experience in working with clients who have issues with trauma, mood instabilities, sexual abuse trauma. When I was a senior in high school I worked for a summer camp for at-risk children and I had the best time with them. They opened up to me about their trauma and abuse and I was there to listen and encourage them. That summer coupled with my love for helping people, showed me my purpose. Cognitive behavioral therapy is my approach. I like to help individuals focus on their thoughts and behaviors and how they are affecting their life. Being EMDR trained, I believe that using desensitization can help individuals to be free of their disturbing memories and live a happier life. First, I would make sure that the client feels comfortable in the office. I’d make sure they felt that I was not judging them but showing them unconditional positive regard. Also, I would ask the client what they hope to gain from therapy and help them to set goals that can be used as a guidepost for future sessions.

MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST - MSW
After having spent six years in the mountains of East Tennessee, gaining my Bachelor Degree & Master Degree in Social Work, I returned to my roots in West Tennessee in 2023. Through those years in the mountains, I worked with adolescents & their families, as well as a diverse clientele from all walks of life. Diversity & culture make us who we are and both are very important to the therapeutic process. I value meeting individuals and their families while encouraging them to utilize their own unique abilities and attributes in their healing. Each person has their own timeline and level of need ~ my focus is on meeting you where you are.
I am passionate about integrating expressive arts into therapy and making your sessions an experience you look forward to, while also bringing you more personal awareness through evidenced-based practice. Additionally, I think therapy should be unique to the client ~ each session will be tailored to fit your needs and goals through strength-based, client-centered, and collaborative approaches.

MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST - LMSW
Seeking therapy can be difficult; however, I strive to provide a safe, comfortable and nonjudgmental environment for every individual that I have the privilege of working with. I believe most every individual could benefit from therapy at some point in their life—whether it is to work through a mental health diagnosis, grief, trauma, self-doubt, or daily life issues. We are all unique individuals that have experienced things that shape us into who we are today. I feel privileged to be able to provide a compassionate ear, guide individuals through life’s challenges, and teach skills that empower them to become healthier and happier.
I began working in the mental health field in 2016 and have been in this field ever since in different settings— community mental health, the school system, and private practice. As a therapist, I incorporate different therapy techniques based on each individuals needs. I have received training in CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, EMDR, Sand Tray Therapy and Play Therapy. I have experience working with all ages, but especially enjoy working with young adults.
